Snow Day!
Chicago had a big snowstorm on Thursday and Friday, with about 36 hours of snowfall and over 8" on the ground at our house. To this Texan, it was totally gorgeous! Both Garfield and Grace canceled school, and Jonathan and I arranged our schedules to be home with the kids. Between shoveling and sledding, the children got lots of exercise, which made them easier to handle.I caught up on some longterm projects (like mailing the last of our Christmas gifts--ouch!) and did some budget work needed to amend our homestudy. I didn't even leave the house until 6:00 pm. That's never happened since the kids came. It was also the first snow day that Garfield has given in about five years. What a gift!
